ReSea Sports latest updates: milestones on the path to regeneration

Key deliverable sets the groundwork
At the end of August, ReSea Sports achieved a significant milestone with the submission the “REGENERATIVE SEA SPORTS Methodology” (D1.1). This foundational document defines the conceptual and practical framework of the project through three components: Inventory Conceptualisation & Identification, Integrated Management & Governance Methodology, and Methodology of Monitoring including Battery of Indicators.
This deliverable represents an important step forward, setting the basis for implementing regenerative principles in sea sports. It provides a clear roadmap to guide pilot site activities and ensure the project’s impact is both measurable and replicable.

Steering Committee in Quiberon: shaping the next phases
On September 18th, the ReSea Sports consortium met in Quiberon, France, for an in-person Steering Committee meeting hosted by ENVSN – École Nationale de Voile et des Sports Nautiques. The session brought together project partners to evaluate progress and coordinate the next stages of implementation.
Key points from the meeting included:
- Advancing local stakeholder workshops at pilot sites
- Preparing on-site regenerative actions
- Expanding the International Advisory Board
The gathering was a great opportunity for partners to meet face-to-face, share ideas, and exchange good practices regarding environmental regeneration and sustainable sport. The collaborative spirit and enthusiasm demonstrated in Quiberon set a positive tone for the ambitious work ahead.

Reaffirming commitment to green sport
Following the Steering Committee’s discussion, ReSea Sports joined the Green Sport Manifesto, a European Commission initiative under SHARE 2.0 that encourages measurable sustainability actions in sport. By signing the manifesto, the consortium formalised its pledge to integrate sustainability into governance, impact reporting, and community engagement.
This step reflects the project’s belief that sea sports can actively contribute to the protection and regeneration of marine ecosystems, transforming them into positive agents for change.

ReSea Sports marca un importante avance con la presentación de la «Metodología REGENERATIVE SEA SPORTS»y una productiva reunión del Comité Directivo en Quiberon, donde los socios se alinearon en torno a los objetivos de sostenibilidad y la decisión de firmar el Manifiesto del Deporte Verde.
El resultado clave sienta las bases
A finales de agosto, ReSea Sports alcanzó un hito significativo con la presentación de la «Metodología REGENERATIVE SEA SPORTS» (D1.1). Este documento fundamental define el marco conceptual y práctico del proyecto a través de tres componentes: Conceptualización e identificación del inventario, Metodología de gestión y gobernanza integradas y Metodología de seguimiento, incluida una batería de indicadores.
Este resultado representa un importante paso adelante, ya que sienta las bases para la aplicación de principios regenerativos en los deportes marítimos. Comité directivo en Quiberon: definiendo las próximas fases
El 18 de septiembre, el consorcio ReSea Sports se reunió en Quiberon, Francia, para una reunión presencial del Comité Directivo, organizada por la ENVSN – École Nationale de Voile et des Sports Nautiques.
La sesión reunió a los socios del proyecto para evaluar los avances y coordinar las próximas etapas de implementación
Puntos clave del encuentro:
- Avanzar en los talleres con actores locales en los sitios piloto
- Preparar acciones regenerativas in situ
- Ampliar el Consejo Asesor Internacional
El encuentro fue una gran oportunidad para que los socios se reunieran cara a cara, compartieran ideas y buenas prácticas sobre regeneración ambiental y deporte sostenible. El espíritu colaborativo y el entusiasmo demostrados en Quiberon marcaron un tono positivo para el ambicioso trabajo que viene.

Reafirmando el compromiso con el deporte verde
Tras las discusiones del Comité Directivo, ReSea Sports se unió al Green Sport Manifesto, una iniciativa de la Comisión Europea en el marco de SHARE 2.0, que promueve acciones de sostenibilidad medibles en el deporte.
Al firmar el manifiesto, el consorcio formalizó su compromiso de integrar la sostenibilidad en la gobernanza, los informes de impacto y la participación comunitaria.
Este paso refleja la convicción del proyecto de que los deportes marinos pueden contribuir activamente a la protección y regeneración de los ecosistemas marinos, convirtiéndose en agentes positivos de cambio.
