ReSea Sports Stakeholder Workshop Series – Poreč, Croatia

On 29 May 2026, HAŠK Mladost organised a series of stakeholder workshops in Poreč, Croatia, as part of the ReSea Sports Pilot Site activities. The workshops brought together representatives from local sports organisations involved in swimming, scuba diving, sport fishing, and sailing to explore how sport can contribute to environmental protection and coastal regeneration.

Through presentations, discussions, and collaborative planning sessions, participants explored the principles of regenerative sports, the objectives of the ReSea Sports project, and opportunities to implement practical environmental actions within their own activities.

Activities Carried Out
Swimming Club Poreč
The first workshop engaged young swimmers aged 7–13 and focused on environmental awareness, sustainability, and the biodiversity of the Adriatic Sea.

  • Introduction to ReSea Sports, the Erasmus+ Sport programme, and the SHARE 2.0 Green Manifesto.
  • Interactive discussions on marine ecosystems, environmental protection, and sustainability.
  • Agreement to integrate ReSea Sports activities into the internationally recognised “Poreč Dolphin” swimming event.

Association for Underwater Activities and Sport Fishing Poreč (DPDSR Poreč) The second workshop brought together experienced divers and club members to discuss environmental challenges affecting the Adriatic Sea.
  • Exploration of climate change impacts, including warming seas, invasive species, biodiversity loss, and ecosystem changes.
  • Discussion of the role divers can play in protecting marine environments.
  • Agreement to organise future seabed clean-up actions within the Poreč coastal area.

The final workshop focused on engaging the sailing community in regenerative practices and coastal stewardship.

  • Discussion of environmental sustainability and the effects of climate change on marine ecosystems.
  • Identification of opportunities for community-led environmental action.
  • Agreement to organise future beach and coastal clean-up initiatives in the Poreč area.
