is a European initiative reimagining how we engage with water sports in coastal areas—turning leisure into impact. Inspired by the concept of regenerative tourism, the project develops a unique methodology that not only eliminates the environmental footprint of sports activities but transforms them into positive, regenerative actions that actively restore and protect marine and coastal ecosystems.
Focusing on water-based sports, ReSea Sports introduces a holistic, multi-stakeholder approach to managing and revitalizing coastal zones. By creating meaningful collaborations between public authorities, sports clubs, tourism operators, civil society groups, and environmental organizations, the project pioneers a governance model that puts community and ecology at the center of sport.
Spanning Spain, Croatia, France, Malta, and Italy, the project will run across six partner organizations, with four acting as real-world pilot sites to test and refine its methodology. The goal: to leave our shorelines better than we found them—through sport.
